Cedar Hills is built upon a “bench,” an alluvial fan formed thousands of years ago when the area was the shoreline of Lake Bonneville. Various wildlife, including coyotes, wild cats, foxes, bears and deer, roamed the area before it was settled. Around 1850, settlers began to make their homes in the Cedar Hills area.
